Never one to mince words, Noel Gallagher had this to say about Jay-Z's Glastonbury appearance when it was announced this past April: "I'm sorry, but Jay-Z? Fucking no chance. Glastonbury has a tradition of guitar music and even when they throw the odd curve ball in on a Sunday night you go 'Kylie Minogue?' I don't know about it. But I’m not having hip-hop at Glastonbury, no way man. It’s wrong."

Jigga wasn't having any of it when he stepped onstage this past Saturday night with a guitar in hand and Oasis' "Wonderwall" playing behind him. In a brilliant pot shot at Gallagher, the rapper performed an awkward but awesome karaoke version of the Brit-pop classic. Let's just say it's worth a few minutes of your life on YouTube.

According to an ABC News report, Glastonbury-goers were split into for-and-against camps when it came to Jay-Z's headlining spot.

"I just don't think he's right for this festival," said Vanessa Nkosi. "This has a more dancing vibe; it's not the right sort of music."

Her friend, Ashley T., felt differently however. "I am so excited," he said. "Hip-hop is a main part of the music scene. Glastonbury has embraced American artists before, and this should be no different."
