Rose McGowan Gets the Red Out

Rose McGowan will be seeing red very soon. The actress has confirmed that she will star as the flame-haired, sword-wielding comic book vixen Red Sonja in the forthcoming movie of the same name. Her boyfriend, director Robert Rodriguez, who she met on the set on Grindhouse, continues to be heavily involved in her career and will produce the film, with Douglas Aarniokoski onboard to direct.

In the film, Red Sonja, who is one of the most feared warriors of all time, at least in the world of comic books, will return to the big screen to seek vengeance on those who destroyed her family. Nu Image/Millennium Films will release the picture. Production starts in October, most likely in Michigan. No release date has been confirmed at this time.
