Richie Havens Readies His Thirtieth Release

Verve Records has announced the July 29 release of Nobody Left to Crown, Richie Havens' latest LP. A native of the Greenwich Village folk scene right alongside such icons as Bob Dylan, Havens performed at Woodstock '69 and has more than 25 albums to his credit.

"I really sing songs that move me," Havens recently told The Denver Post. "I'm not in show business; I'm in the communications business. That's what it's about for me."

Havens has a Nobody Left to Crown tour lined up between a July 5 stop in Surrey, England, and a February 28, 2009, gig in Homer, AK.
