Making her directorial debut with roller derby flick
Drew Barrymore Cracks the "Whip"
Drew Barrymore is set to make her directorial debut withBarrymore has assembled a top-notch cast of female comedic talent for the flick, including Ellen Page, Juliette Lewis, Zoe Bell, Kristen Wiig, and Marcia Gay Harden. Barrymore and Page will play derby teammates, with Harden portraying Page's mother, who hates seeing her daughter on skates. Lewis, Bell, and Wiig will all play derby "grrls."
Mandate Pictures will release the film, which begins shooting this summer in both Michigan and Texas.
