Val Kilmer, Cam Gigandet to Pull "Silver Cord"

Val Kilmer has emerged from hibernation. The actor, little-seen in recent years, has accepted in a role in the indie drama Silver Cord for Handpicked Films.

Kilmer joins Cam Gigandet and Eric Balfour in the film about a man who is pronounced clinically dead on multiple occasions, only to come back to life. The man eventually died in 2004 and the film is based on the stranger than fiction true story of director James Ordonez's younger brother. Production begins in September.

Kilmer is currently working on another indie flick, The Thaw, and has just been cast in the remake of Bad Lieutenant, which has also added hellion Fairuza Balk and rapper Xzibit to its cast list.
