Yet another massive multimillion-dollar contract
Nickelback Sign Live Nation Deal
Nickelback has joined the ranks of Madonna, Jay-Z and U2 by signing a worldwide recording, touring and merchandising deal with Live Nation. According to Billboard.com, the concert promoter offered the band between $50 million and $70 million for a contract that covers three albums and tours.Nickelback still owes its current label, Roadrunner Records, two records. While Slipknot, Megadeth and Stone Sour are some of Roadrunner's major artists, the loss of Nickelback could really hurt the label. After all, the band's sold more than 26 million albums and grossed more than $67 million in a 2006/2007 tour of North America and Australia.
