John Woo Shows His Director's "Caliber"
Director John Woo has agreed to adapt the feature film version of the comic book Caliber. The film will be produced in a three way deal by Johnny Depp's Infinitum Nihil production company, Radical Comics, and by Woo's own Lion Rock, a US-based production company he runs with partner Terence Chang. The comic places medieval King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table in a new historical setting, with 19th century gunslingers doing battle in the Pacific Northwest. Production dates have yet to be determined, as Woo is currently hashing out details of the wide release of his Chinese epic Red Cliff, which is scheduled to be released in Asia in January followed by a US rollout.
