Christian Bale Accused of Assault

Christian Bale has barely had a second to enjoy the success of his smash hit The Dark Knight. In an ironic twist, Bale, who sizzles as Batman and his alter ego Bruce Wayne, was arrested on Tuesday on charges of assault in London. The Welsh actor's mother and sister made the allegations.

The British media reports that Bale's mother and sister claimed the star assaulted them at London's Dorchester Hotel on Sunday night prior the the European premiere of The Dark Knight. Police would not confirm whether or not Bale was questioned, saying only that a "34-year-old man...was arrested in connection with an allegation of assault" at a Central London police station.

Bale's American and British based reps have not commented on the matter as of press time.
