Djimon Hounsou Faces "Doom"
West African actor Djimon Hounsou, who has garnered a bit of press lately for his relationship with glamazon/model/fashion mogul Kimora Lee Simmons, will star in and produce a film based on immortal sorcerer Thulsa Doom, a character in the Kull and Conan the Barbarian comics. The character initially appeared in a story published during the 1930s.The film will depict the character's fall from grace and how good intentions lead him to his fate. The picture hasn't been picked up by a studio yet and no production dates have been set at press time. Dynamite will release a comic book series featuring Thulsa Doom next year through its Dynamic Forces imprint.
The character of Thulsa Doom was last played by James Earl Jones in the 1982 action flick Conan the Barbarian.
