Michelle Williams Partners Up with Beastie Boy Adam Yauch

Michelle Williams has teamed up with Adam Yauch, a.k.a. MCA of The Beastie Boys, but not for a musical endeavor. Williams' film Wendy and Lucy has been picked up for distribution and marketing by Yauch's start-up film company, Oscilloscope Pictures. The company will handle the North American rights to the film and has planned a limited New York release, followed by a national rollout in 2009.

In the film, Williams, who received a Best Supporting Actress Oscar nomination for her portrayal of a scorned wife in Brokeback Mountain, portrays Wendy, a working class American woman dealing with poverty in Oregon. She heads to Alaska in search of a better life and opportunities.
