Paybacks are a bitch in this comedy
Michael Vartan and David Cross "Demoted"
Michael Vartan and David Cross will explore the power struggle implicit in workplace hierarchies in the forthcoming comedy Demoted.Vartan, known for playing romantic leading men in films like Monster-in-Law, will portray Rodney, a successful sales associate for Treadline Tires. Rodney gets a kick out of belittling and torturing his nerdy colleague Ken, portrayed by comedian Cross, late of TV's Arrested Development. The tables are turned when their boss dies and Ken climbs the company's corporate ladder, eventually demoting Rodney and relegating him to a secretarial position as payback.
Parallel Zide, a new arm of Parallel Media, will produce the film. Production begins on September 2 in Michigan. J.B. Rogers, who helmed American Pie 2, will direct.
