Shia LaBeouf Busted For DUI

For the most part, 22-year-old actor Shia LaBeouf has been known for avoiding the trappings of young stardom, such as too much partying and public drinking. Until recently, that is. In addition to February's citation for smoking in a public place in Burbank, California, which was later dismissed, LaBeouf was arrested on suspicion of drunk driving in West Hollywood on Sunday at 3:00 AM. LaBeouf sustained a hand and knee injury in the early morning wreck. His passenger and the other driver were also injured, albeit not critically.

LaBeouf was attempting to make a left turn at an intersection when his pickup truck collided with another vehicle, rolling LaBeouf's truck over, according to Los Angeles County's Sheriff's department. The department also said that it was clear to responding officers that LaBeouf was intoxicated and he was subsequently placed under arrest. He was eventually released for misdemeanor DUI and treated at a local hospital. The crash is currently under investigation.

This isn't LaBeouf's first drunken confrontation with the long arm of the law. He was slapped with criminal misdemeanor trespassing charges last year after a brush with a security guard at a drugstore in Chicago. LaBeouf will next be seen in Eagle Eye and is filming the follow up to Transformers.
