    Tyler Perry Returns to Lionsgate

Prolific African-American family comedy auteur Tyler Perry is coming home again. The actor/writer/director is returning to Lionsgate, having inked a three-year first-look deal with the studio. Lionsgate released Perry's first smash film, 2005's Diary of a Mad Black Woman. Studio representatives have indicated that they are happy to be a part of the burgeoning Perry brand, which crosses all mediums and includes films, books, the television show House of Payne, and plays.

Per the terms of the deal, Perry will produce three films for Lionsgate after the forthcoming The Family That Preys Together, which is due out this September, and Tyler Perry's Madea Goes to Jail.
