Harvey Keitel Escapes to "Mars" on ABC
Actor Harvey Keitel, known for inhabiting provocative, intense, and subversive roles throughout his career, is softening up a bit. Keitel has accepted a regular role on ABC's upcoming TV series, Life on Mars. Keitel joins a horde of screen stars that have made their switch to the boob tube.Keitel will portray Detective Gene Hunt, the head of a homicide department who takes his gig very seriously. The show will begin shooting, based on a revamped pilot, on August 5 in New York City. The cast is rounded out by Jason O'Mara and former Sopranos star Michael Imperioli. The show's premise is about a modern day cop who is involved in a car crash, only to wake up in the 1970s.
