Studio Puts the Breaks on "Nottingham"
Nottingham, the reimagining of the Robin Hood legend to be directed by Ridley Scott, has been postponed indefinitely. The film was poised to begin shooting in mid-August and had a November 2009 release date attached, but myriad issues, including script rewrite concerns, location issues, and the SAG labor problems have derailed that plan. Universal is producing the film in conjunction with Imagine.Russell Crowe and Sienna Miller are onboard to portray a sympathetic Sheriff of Nottingham and Maid Marion, respectively. A new production date has not been announced, although it's been hinted by producers that it may be next spring, since the location needs to be "green," due to the Sherwood Forest setting.
