    Q-Tip Finally Finishes a New Full-Length

It's been nine years since Q-Tip dropped a solo disc: his post-A Tribe Called Quest debut, Amplified. While his sophomore effort, the jazz-driven Kamaal the Abstract, was shelved in 2002, the MC insists he's readied another record (The Renaissance) for a fall release. According to Billboard.com, the album is coming out on October 14, a tentative date Q-Tip's reps were quick to downplay. Sound wise, it apparently "blends live instrumentation, scratching, and samples for a sound reminiscent of the rapper's work in A Tribe Called Quest," with guest spots coming from Raphael Saadiq, Norah Jones, D'Angelo and more.

In related news, A Tribe Called Quest is still in the midst of a Rock the Bells reunion, which winds down in George, WA, next month.
