John Rich Writes Campaign Anthem For John McCain

John Rich of Big & Rich fame has written a song for the John McCain campaign. Entitled "Raising McCain," it features the lyrics "He stayed strong, stayed extra long 'til they let all the other boys out. Now we've got a real man with an American plan, we're going to put him in the big White House."

The country star plans on performing the song tonight at the Country First concert in Panama City, FL. As he explained to Billboard.com, "I wanted to offer him something that he didn't have, a rally song, one that really captures that maverick spirit … The entire world is looking for a way to sucker punch us. National security is absolutely at the top of the list of issues. That's why I think John McCain is the guy to keep us safe."

Rich added that he's "proud as an American" to see a black candidate earn the Democratic nomination, but can't come to grips with Barack Obama's views on most major issues.
