Christina Applegate Diagnosed With Breast Cancer

Movie, television, and Broadway actress Christina Applegate has been diagnosed with breast cancer, according to her publicist Anne Van Iden. Applegate is currently undergoing treatment for the disease, which was detected early. She is expected to make a full recovery and the cancer is not considered life-threatening for the Emmy-winning star.

Applegate's mother is a two-time breast cancer survivor and the 36-year-old actress has been a cancer awareness advocate through the years. She currently stars in the TV series Samantha Who? and has been nominated for both an Emmy and a Golden Globe for her portrayal of a young woman suffering from amnesia. She nabbed an Emmy in 2003 after a guest appearance on Friends.
