A 15-foot Penske truck containing the Stooges' gear was ransacked in Montreal yesterday morning, between the hours of 6:30 and 7:30 a.m. According to Billboard.com, the group's missing equipment includes a red Gibson 1963 EB-3 bass; a black road case containing a volcano black Reverend Flying V guitar; a black road case containing a Reverend orange guitar; two black road cases containing Marshall vintage amplifiers; several Marshall 4-by-12 cabinets; an orange Calzone road case containing guitar pedal board and pedals; a Gretsch silver sparkle Catalina drum kit and drum heads, a green clamshell suitcase containing Yamaha drum pedals and Zildjian cymbals, along with two mic stands, assorted strings and spares, two Boss chromatic tuners, a Crybaby wah, tuner pedals, tambourine and maracas, tools and more.
The band's manager, Eric Fischer, insists they'll perform with rented gear for the rest of their tour, which includes tonight's stop at Toronto's Massey Hall.
