Emile Hirsch and Ang Lee to Take "Woodstock"
Emile Hirsch has signed on to appear in another big screen book adaptation. After gaining critical acclaim for his portrayal of real life drifter Christopher McCandless in last year's Into the Wild, the young actor will appear in Ang Lee's forthcoming Taking Woodstock. The film is based on the memoir of Elliot Tiber, one of the men responsible for putting together and scouting the location for the legendary 1969 music fest Woodstock, which took place on his neighbor's farm.Liev Schrieber will also star, while James Schamus, who worked with Lee on the Oscar-winning film Brokeback Mountain, will produce. Demetri Martin has already been cast in the role of Tiber while Hirsch will play a Vietnam vet recently returned to America during the summer of love.
