    Leaving one member behind

    Wolfmother Splits Up

Two-thirds of Wolfmother have quit the Australian trio, leaving singer/guitarist Andrew Stockdale behind to pick up the pieces. Bassist/keyboardist Chris Ross and drummer Myles Heskett made the decision to leave because of the usual blend of "irreconcilable personal and music differences."

"Please understand that in spite of their best efforts over a long period of time, they just could not find a harmonious way to work together," a statement from the band's camp said.

Wolfmother's self-titled 2006 debut has sold more than 500,000 copies in the U.S. thanks to such singles as "Woman" and "Joker and the Thief." While Stockdale plans on keeping the band alive with a lineup, Ross and Heskett have songs written for a completely different project.
