Yung Berg Facing Drug, Menacing Charges
New York City police arrested Yung Berg on Saturday, charging the rapper with menacing in the 2nd degree and unlawful possession of marijuana. A limo driver called the officers, complaining about an argument with the 22-year-old and another passenger, Cornell Whitfield. According to the District Attorney's office, the latter is facing his own set of charges, including criminal possession of a weapon in the 2nd degree (a .45 caliber semi-automatic pistol with nearly 10 rounds of ammo) and two counts of menacing in the 2nd degree.Robert Kalina, Yung Berg's lawyer, said in a statement, "A number of media reports have been inaccurate (about the arrest). This unfortunate incident is now a legal matter being clarified and resolved by the authorities."
Ironically enough, Berg's new album, Look What You Made Me Do, dropped in stores today.
