Channing Tatum to Make a Free Jump for New Line
Athletically-built actor Channing Tatum will star in a yet to be titled film about Parkour, an extreme sport where people run and jump from rooftops. Music video director Richie Smyth, who's helmed videos for the likes of U2, will direct. It's a passion project driven by Smyth's personal interest in extreme sports. He once canceled a planned jump out of a helicopter atop a mountain in Alaska in order to audition for a directorial job.Production on the drama will begin early next year. Writers Kevin Lund and T.J. Scott penned the script about two men who jump not only for the thrill, but in order to pull off heists. Temple Hill will producer under New Line.
