John Cusack Stalker to Stand Trial
A disturbed woman accused of stalking actor John Cusack has been ruled competent enough to stand trial, according to Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Susan M. Speer. Speer also ruled that the woman, Emily Leatherman, cannot represent herself during her trial and based her rulings on a psychiatrist's evaluation. The doctor found that Leatherman is both delusional and paranoid. The 33-year-old Leatherman was arrested earlier this year when she was found lurking outside the actor's home. Leatherman was reportedly sobbing in court and tried several times to speak over Speers, who warned her to calm down and appointed a lawyer to represent her during trial, which could begin as soon as September 9. Cusack's camp has yet to issue any new statement about the matter.
