How will this work without Pacino?
"The Godfather, Part II" Translated to Video Game
The Godfather, Part II is being translated into a video game to be released by Electronic Arts in February 2009. It is a follow up to the 2006 video game based on the original Godfather movie, which grossed over $62 million in the United States. The sequel game will borrow from the plot of The Godfather Part II, but will not focus on the film's flashbacks, which featured Robert De Niro as Vito Corleone. Instead, game players are able to control a new member of the Corleone crime family who is rising to power. Most stars from the film have agreed to provide their likenesses for the video game, save for its star, Al Pacino. While it might seem impossible to do a video game of a Godfather film without the actor who came to personify Michael Corleone, gamers can rejoice over the fact that Robert Duvall is recording original voiceovers, since his Tom Hagen character appears in the game and counsels the new Corleone as he moves up the family ladder.
Director Francis Ford Coppola does not support this game and was opposed to the original.
