George Clooney Accepts "The Challenge"

George Clooney is the Energizer Bunny of the A-list set. The actor/producer/political advisor has bought the rights to The Challenge, a legal thriller written and recently published by Jonathan Mahler. The story centers around U.S. Navy lawyer Charles Swift and Georgetown Law Professor Netal Katyal, who fought for a fair trial for Salim Hamdan, the driver and bodyguard of terrorist Osama bin Laden.

Clooney's Smoke House production shingle will develop the film, and there remains a possibility that Clooney could star in, direct, or even write the project.
