George Clooney Accepts "The Challenge"
George Clooney is the Energizer Bunny of the A-list set. The actor/producer/political advisor has bought the rights to The Challenge, a legal thriller written and recently published by Jonathan Mahler. The story centers around U.S. Navy lawyer Charles Swift and Georgetown Law Professor Netal Katyal, who fought for a fair trial for Salim Hamdan, the driver and bodyguard of terrorist Osama bin Laden.Clooney's Smoke House production shingle will develop the film, and there remains a possibility that Clooney could star in, direct, or even write the project. Clooney's people said that no firm decision has been made as to what specific role he will play related to this film.
