    Claire Danes Eyeing Autism Biopic

Claire Danes is in negotiations to star in HBO's long-languishing biopic on the life of Temple Grandin, noted scientific author and one of the world's leading speakers on autism.

In the film, Danes would play Grandin from her high school years, where she was called "tape recorder" by her peers because she repeated things as a result of her own autism and her brain's reaction to too much sensory stimulation, through her post-academic life. Grandin went on to earn a number of impressive degrees from several universities and rose to fame for writing essays on the subject of animal welfare. She was also instrumental in helping to design humane slaughterhouses. She is a regular on the talk news circuit as well.

Production on the film is slated to begin in October. The film has been in development for over nine years and looks to finally see the light of day.
