Sheryl Crow Offers Free Downloads to Rock the Vote Users
Sheryl Crow is offering a free download of her new single, the politically-charged "Gasoline," to anyone who visits the Rock the Vote site or signs up for their mailing list. In addition to that little incentive, the first 50,000 people who register three friends to vote will receive a free digital copy of Crow's new disc, Detours."I hope people wake up and emotionally engage in issues," Crow, one of Rock the Vote's co-founders, told the Associated Press. "At this moment in my life, writing about anything else would be uninteresting and impossible because I feel such urgency."
According to Rock the Vote executive director Heather Smith, the organization hopes to register 2 million young people by November—the largest drive in history.
