New Bond Flick Bumped A Week
Quantum of Solace, the latest James Bond flick to feature Daniel Craig as 007, has seen its release date bumped from November 7 to November 14 in the wake of Warner Bros. pushing the hotly anticipated Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince from November 14 of this year to next summer. Sony and MGM bumped Quantum into the weekened slot now vacated by Potter, since most Bond films have been released the weekend before Thanksgiving. The studio didn't want to release the Bond film too close to the Potter film, so it settled on November 7 initially.Sony, MGM and Quantum of Solace aren't the only entities that have responded to the switch. Summit Entertainment will release Twilight, the eagerly awaited film version of the gargantuan book series, to November 21. Despite the absence of a Harry Potter film during the holiday season, it's clear that these films provide plenty of reasons to hit the multiplex, while giving thanks and feasting on turkey.
