Merge has announced a special deluxe box set to commemorate the label's 20th anniversary. Due out in volumes throughout 2009, SCORE! Merge Records: The First 20 Years features 14 curated compilations, hand-selected by a strange cast of musicians (David Byrne, Peter Buck of R.E.M.), writers (Jonathan Lethem), artists (Marcel Dzama), at least one chef (David Chang) and comedian (Amy Poehler).

The catch? The entire collection will only be available to subscribers who sign up between September 8 and the January '09 release of the first two volumes. For more information, check out www.mergerecords.com.
