Being sued for revealing "trade secrets"
Things Get Hairy for Kate Hudson in Lawsuit
Actress Kate Hudson tried to do her part for the "green movement," but her efforts have come back to haunt her. Hudson and business partner, celebrity hair stylist David Babaii, are being sued by a company called 220 Laboratories over David Babaii for Wild Aid, the eco-friendly hair care products that the duo launched in June. In the suit filed in Los Angeles Superior Court late last week, the plaintiff claims that Hudson misappropriated confidential trade secrets when she took a sample of their product, which contained volcanic ash as an ingredient, and used that "secret ingredient" in her own line of products, which were sold on the Home Shopping Network and promoted by Hudson. The company basically claims Hudson and Babaii stole their idea. The lawsuit cites 17 instances where Hudson and Babaii use volcanic ash, a product for which 220 is the only U.S supplier. 220 Labs is seeking unspecified damages and Hudson and Babaii have yet to comment on the suit.
