Lennon Biopic In Casting Stages
Sam Taylor-Wood—a multimedia artist best known for her work with the Pet Shop Boys and such pop culture icons as Elton John, Robert Downey Jr. and David Beckham—has signed on to direct a John Lennon film that focuses on his childhood and the years leading up to The Beatles' formation. While casting is currently "underway," Matt Greenhalgh (best known for his work on the Joy Division biopic Control) has already completed the movie's script."The women in John's early life truly shaped who he became," Taylor-Wood told Billboard.com, "and the strengths and weaknesses of their relationships are central to this film."
Filming is set to begin in Lennon's hometown of Liverpool once its casting phase is wrapped up.
