Universal Pictures Announces Release of Frost/Nixon

Universal Pictures has announced December 5 as the release date of Frost/Nixon, the film version of the stage play written by Peter Morgan. Directed by Ron Howard, the film features Frank Langhella as disgraced President Richard Nixon and Michael Sheen as David Frost, a jet-setting television personality with whom Nixon agreed to conduct his first post-Watergate interview. Langhella and Sheen, who worked with Morgan on The Queen, reprised their stage roles in this big screen adaptation.

Frost/Nixon focuses on a specific event in history and actually recreates the on-air interview, which turned into a battle of wits between the two. The film explores the behind the scenes maneuvering which lead to the two men sitting down for a chat and the deals that were made about what would be discussed. The cast also includes Kevin Bacon, Sam Rockwell, and Oliver Platt. More information about the film can be accessed at www.frostnixon.net.
