VH1 has revealed the details behind two hip-hop programs, both of which lead into the station's fifth annual "Hip Hop Honors" telecast. The first, "100 Greatest Hip-Hop Songs," premieres on September 29, setting in motion a five-part series featuring original interviews and classic performances by Public Enemy, LL Cool J, Salt-N-Pepa, OutKast and many more. Also on tap October 3 is the VH1 Rock Doc "NWA: World's Most Dangerous Group," which features the narration of Chris Rock and appearances by Dr. Dre, Ice Cube, Ice-T, Eazy-E's widow, and other artists and commentators that were close to the gangsta rap pioneers.
As for the whole "Hip-Hop Honors" thing, it'll air on October 6 and celebrate such artists as Cypress Hill, De La Soul, Slick Rick, Naughty By Nature and Too Short.
