Denzel Washington to Read the Book of Eli
Denzel Washington has inked a deal to star in The Book of Eli, a post-apocalyptic drama to be directed by brothers Allen Hughes and Albert Hughes. Alcon Entertainment, which lives under the Warner Brothers umbrella, will finance the film, which will be co-produced with Silver Pictures.The film is rumored to be an epic and edgy thriller based on a script by Gary Whitta. Washington will play a hero who tries to save what's left of American society, which has been reduced to a wasteland, by bringing knowledge that could spark the redemption of the human race. Filming begins in January in New Mexico.
