Acquire rights to serial killer flick
Tom Cruise and United Artists Catch Monster
Tom Cruise continues to fill his calendar with plenty of projects. The constantly-in-the-news actor and United Artists have grabbed the rights to The Monster of Florence, a serial killer thriller. Cruise will produce and possibly star in the film, which will be based on the best-selling book authored by Douglas Preston. The book reconstructs eight double homicides believed to have been committed by a single culprit between 1968 and 1985 in Italy. In the true crime book, Preston and co-author Mario Spezi interviewed the man they believed pulled off the crimes. No further details about the film are currently available.
