Commemorating their 2007 'reunion'
The Smashing Pumpkins Prep Two DVD Package
A little more than a year after their pseudo reunion, the Smashing Pumpkins have decided to release a 2-DVD set chronicling their 19-show residency in Asheville, NC, and San Francisco, CA, last summer."We went into the residencies hopeful to play some new music, with the idea I would write during the day and we could maybe even play new songs that same night," Corgan said in a statement. "What I didn't anticipate is how much the process would inspire me, positively and negatively, to report what I was seeing and feeling from the shows."
Disc one of this inspired report includes the 105-minute "If All Goes Wrong" documentary, featuring interviews from band members, fans (they're also featured in a "Voices of the Ghost Children" segment), journalists and other musicians. The Who's legendary guitarist, Pete Townshend, also offers his thoughts on the band in a special interview. As for disc two, it's called "The Fillmore Residency" and focuses on 115 minutes of live footage, including seven of 20 new songs that were written and performed during the band's residency. To give you an idea of what you're in for, "Gossamer" alone is 30 minutes long.
Coming Home Media will release If All Goes Wrong on November 11 in glorious 5.1 Surround Sound.
