Val Kilmer, Eric Roberts, Armand Assante to Conduct an Experiment

Actors Eric Roberts, Val Kilmer, and Armand Assante are preparing to heat things up. The actors have been cast in the politically-leaning indie thriller The Steam Experiment. The film will follow six people being terrorized while trapped in an urban Turkish bathhouse. Philippe Martinez will direct.

Kilmer will play the bad guy, a former college professor who cranks up the heat in the steam room in effort to prove that the physical pressures of global warming will cause humans to eventually crack. He refuses to turn off the heat and reveal the location of the hostages until his hypothesis is splashed across the front page of the local newspaper. Assante will star as a detective. Roberts will portray one of the hapless hostages fighting for survival in the sweatbox. Patrick Muldoon and Quinn Duffy have been cast as other hostages as well.

The film will be set in Grand Rapids, Michigan, with filming currently underway.
