Kevin Spacey, Ewan McGregor, Jeff Bridges to Get Their Goats

George Clooney is assembling an ensemble cast for Mandate Pictures' curiously-titled film, The Men Who Stare at Goats. Actors Ewan McGregor, Kevin Spacey, and Jeff Bridges are being courted to star with Clooney in the film, based on a book by Jon Ronson.

Goats is set in Iraq and follows reporter Bob Wilton (McGregor) who meets Clooney's Lyn Cassady, who claims he is a former military psychic soldier reactivated after the September 11 attacks. The men travel through Iraq and witness the secret Army that creates paranormal soldiers like Cassady. Bridges is set to play Bill Django, the founder of the secret program, with Spacey to portray Larry Hooper, a former psychic soldier now running a prison camp in Iraq.

Clooney's Smoke House shingle will co-produce the film along with BBC Films. An early October start date is planned.
