Vin Diesel Gets Another XXX Rating

Action hero Vin Diesel is enjoying a flurry of activity as he relaunches his career after a brief lull. The actor will return to his role as Xander "XXX" Cage, an extreme sports athlete who ended up being enlisted by the government for a dangerous mission in the rebooted XXX franchise. Columbia Pictures is the front-running studio for restarting the franchise, which brought back Diesel, as well as director Rob Cohen, for XXX: The Return of Xander Cage. Columbia is currently holding discussions with producer Joe Roth for the film. If Columbia nixes picking up the film, there are a few other studios interested in it. No further casting information is available at this time.

A Cohen-produced sequel, XXX: State of the Union starring Ice Cube and Willem Dafoe, was released in 2005. Diesel originally agreed to star in that movie, but eventually dropped out.
