Jay-Z Launches New Record Label
Jay-Z and Stargate—the Norwegian production/songwriting duo that counts Mikkel S. Eriksen and Tor Erik Hermansen among its ranks—have paired up for the launch of StarRoc, a label that focuses on fresh new talent and 360 deals similar to Jigga's contract with Live Nation. The New York Times confirmed the trio's partnership in a short piece this past Saturday, adding that it's a 50/50 split between Roc Nation and Stargate (see Ne-Yo's "So Sick," Rihanna's "Unfaithful," and other smash Top 40 singles).Details for The Blueprint 3, Jay-Z's reported final record for Def Jam, are expected before the year's over.
