Geffen Pairs Up With Sony Pictures For 'Partridge Family' Remake
Jeff Rake (Cashmere Mafia) has agreed to write a modern-day version of The Partridge Family. He'll executive produce the project alongside Reveille execs, Geffen-A&M chairman Jimmy Iovine, and Geffen Records chairman Ron Fair."We decided to take a shot at acquiring the original rights and resurrecting the show with a new spin," Fair told Variety. "We’re not going to be caught up in nostalgia. The original was a great touchstone—our goal is to use it and spring forward from it."
The first Partridge Family show ran from 1970-74, and an animated version, The Partridge Family 2200 AD, lasted just one season in '74.
