Keira Knightley To Spend Her Last Night

British beauty Keira Knightley has signed on to star as the female lead in Last Night, a romantic comedy. The film will mark the directorial debut of Massy Tadjedin. The plot will focus on a married couple spending a night apart. Problems develop when the wife runs into a former lover while away from her husband. Sam Worthingon and Eva Mendes will also star in the film. The film will begin shooting in New York next month, with Gaumont and Nick Wechsler Productions producing and distributing the film.

In other Knightley news, she is currently in discussions to portray Zelda Sayme, the lover and eventual wife of author F. Scott Fitzgerald in the forthcoming film The Beautiful and The Damned for The Film Department. Nick Cassavetes will direct the picture, which centers on the tempestuous relationship between Sayme and Fitzgerald, who were known for their lavish 1920s lifestyle. Sayme eventually ended up in an asylum, while Fitzgerald mined their relationship as source material for his novels. The film will begin shooting in April of next year.
