The New York City Opera has asked Philip Glass to write an opera based on the life of Walt Disney and Peter Stephan Jungk's German novel, The Perfect American. According to Variety.com, the opera "imagines the last months of Disney as seen through the eyes of a fictional Austrian cartoonist who worked for him."
Yeah, we're lost too. What we do know is that Improbable—a British troupe that staged Glass' 1980 opera "Satyagraha" at the English National Opera and the Met—will collaborate with Glass as he readies it for a 2012-13 launch.
