Caribou Scoops Up Polaris Prize
Caribou's bedroom-bred Andorra album has won Canada's third annual Polaris Music Prize. Nominees such as Kathleen Edwards, The Weakerthans and Black Mountain all performed at the Phoenix Concert Theatre ceremony last night in Toronto. Caribou, real name Dan Snaith, earned $20,000 Canadian (or $19,096 American; thank you very much, fledgling economy) along with the nod."I feel lucky and proud to be included in such an incredible list of musicians and albums," Snaith said while accepting his award.
Previous Polaris winners include Patrick Watson and Final Fantasy.
