Rashomon to Get Remade
Rashomon, the 1951 film about the trial of a bandit for rape and murder in ancient Japan, is being remade by Harbor Light Entertainment, a Los Angeles-based company, and Lotus, which is located in Tokyo. The film's setting will be changed from 12th Century Japan to Modern-Day America, centering on a plot about a court that listens to facts about a woman's rape and her husband's murder.The remake will be titled Rashomon 2010. The film was initially announced in 2001, but Harbor Light was unable to get things going until now. Casting and release dates have yet to be determined.
