    Getty Reveals Music Licensing Service

Getty Images has expanded its digital media empire to include Premium Playlist, a "one-stop online service for filmmakers, advertising agencies and others looking to license music" according to Billboard. The company's Web site already includes 1,000 tracks, from Barenaked Ladies to Smash Mouth to Norah Jones. Non-exclusive deals with further independent/major labels, music publishers, management companies, and more are expected soon, right alongside updates on Getty's Pump Audio service, which has more than 100,000 songs available for soundtrack and TV commercial purposes.

"We are continuously seeking new ways to market our rich catalog of music to a broader, more diverse set of music users," Warner/Chappell Music executive VP Ann Sweeney said in a statement. (Her company was one of the first Premium Playlist partnerships.) "Getty Images' high quality network and easy-to-use service is a great complement to Warner/Chappell's high caliber roster of artists, songwriters and producers in reaching the synch and licensing communities."
