Full-length version to play in Vegas
The Lion King Heads to Sin City
Las Vegas dwellers better prepare to hear a "roar!" The Lion King is gearing up to hit Sin City at the Mandalay in May 2009.The Tony-winning Broadway show, which was also a blockbuster Disney film released back in 1994, will cruise into Vegas this spring as a full-length production rather than the 90-minute version that most Broadway shows are cut down to when they hit Vegas. While The Lion King is a family-themed production seemingly at odds with Vegas' vices, many Broadway shows have enjoyed success there, convincing producers that the show will draw crowds. Previews will begin April 20, with a May 2 opening date.
