MTV Rings in 20th Anniversary of 'Headbanger's Ball'

While it's currently without a VJ and on MTV2, Headbangers Ball will celebrate 20 years (sorta) of neck-snapping programming later this month. Starting on October 20, MTV2 will air an Avenged Sevenfold concert, a live Metallica performance, and a roundtable discussion featuring the show's past hosts: Riki Rachtmann, Dee Snider of Twisted Sister, and Jamey Jasta of Hatebreed. And the only odd facts about all this, according to Rollingstone.com? Well, the first Headbangers Ball episode aired in April of 1987—more than 21 years ago. And then there's the whole issue of it being off the air between 1995 and Jasta's revival in 2003.

Oh well, that's what happens when you listen to too much loud music, kids.
