Cheech Marin is the Angel of Oxnard
Funnyman Cheech Marin is set to direct and star in Angel of Oxnard, a dramedy for High Road Entertainment. He also wrote the screenplay for the film, which revolves around lead character Angel Mejias, played by Marin. Angel is the voice of the town's Home Shopping Network and he becomes the center of media attention when his face adorns a tortilla.The film will mark Marin's first directorial gig in nearly two decades. In other Marin news, he has inked a three-book deal with Harper Collins to write a series of children's books. He will author a fourth book for adults, scheduled for release in 2009.
